Lerderderg National Park

The 3rd day of our trip around victoria with our ohhhh so great car, from which I sometimes don't feel like getting out of. lol was on dry land. We visited Lerderderg National park in Blackwood, vic. This park offered a bit of everything....lots of dry, bit of wet, heaps of bumpy roads....and endless roads that just took us around and around the park, looking for a way out. After finding out way out, we rewarded ourselves with a low fat, healthy hamburger :)

Hope you enjoy the photos :)

North Shore Geelong

Well finally a moment to write to you all and show you some of the things we have been doing.

After picking up our rental car (which is better then anything I have ever driven in ) we decided to start our trips with a place not to far from home.... in Australia of course an hour or more from home is still close to home :). Even though I have been to Geelong often in my childhood, the Northshore is an area I haven't never visited before, so was interesting to see. Never quite realised we had an oil refinery so close. Can't say I was very impressed.... well at least my nose was not impressed with the smells that I was not able to capture with these pictures. :)

Hope you enjoy the pictures :)

We have landed :)

We have landed :) And what a beautiful time to land it was, short after sunset, as the picture shows.

I wish I could say that our trip was totally uneventful (just as dear hubby wishes it to be) but it seems the harder I try, the likelier the chance I will muck it up and cause some kind of drama to start the holiday off with. Well why should this time be different. LOL The whole morning, while packing my hand luggage, I kept reminding myself *don't forget the camera......!!!* And what do I do ?? I walk out the door to the busstop and just as I get there, what do I remember??? *I FORGOT MY CAMERA*!!!! I seriously don't know who was more shocked....!!! Me - for suddenly realising I had forgotten my camera, or my husband, who especially want to leave earlier to avoid stress, watching me running back to the house, and risking missing the bus for my camera! But at that moment I had only one thought, I can't go without my camera... time enough to run back.

Well I made it back in time, wheezing, huffing and puffing like an old Swiss steam train (hey, believe me I have no condition to brag about LOL ) and then panic attack..... *WHERE WAS HE??*. I thought, *Sheesh,I have missed the bus and he has seriously gone without me*!!! But it was payback time. He was hidden behind the busstop wall.

I am laughing about it now... he still isn't! LOL

But we made it, and now it's holiday time :)

Count down

Oh my, this trip has simply flown. 2 more sleeps and it's time to fly home :(

Yesterday we spent a nice day in the City of Melbourne. Even though I have seen this City so often, it's high skyscrapers that can be seen from so many areas around the city, never cease to fascinate me.
Well folks, off to enjoy the last couple of days.... this is my last post here. See you all on the other side :)

All in one day!

I wonder if there is any other country in the world that can offer
so much scenic variety, and weather changes in one day?
We went from cold and clowdy to sunny and hot through out the day.

Today we drove a total of about 250km to Penincula Bay, Victoria.
Our first stop was a walk in the forest where we visited some old
Bunkers and then off to Cape Schanck.
Lots and lots of stairs in the nice hot sun :) I live in hope that I
managed to burn some calories....which of course I was constantly
replacing....lol
On our way home we stopped of at Frankston Beach where we had
dinner in a Restaurant along the beach and after dinner watched
the sunset.
What a way to end the day :)

Australian ants

I think the first picture doesn't need much explaining except THAT is
how BIG Australian ants get!
This one crossed our path during a walk in the forest.
As you can see from the second picture, they also have enough of
the tiny ones. :) :)

5th Day

We are already into our 5th day here. How time flies :( I would say today was the first day in which I didn't feel like falling asleep at the strangest times of the day :)

Our Geocaching took us lovely places today. What is interesting to see are the changes in senery from one place to the other.

This first picture is of the Maribyrnong River in Sunshine.
The Maribyrnong River rises about 50 km north of Melbourne.

The 3rd and 4th pictures were taken in the Park of the Archery Club in Werribee.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.:)

Brimbank Park

We are now here 4 days and the day trips and Geocaching has begun :)
Our first trip today took us to Brimbank Park. (YES we found the hidden cach. Infact have hooked my parents to this fasinating outdoor hobby)
This Park brings back lots of my childhood memories. It was a our typical family Saturday afternoon outing. Can you imagine - 7 wild kids let out on the loose in the park, lol. We had a BBQ, played cricked, swimming and fishing.
Curious to know what the weather is? 28 degrees with beautiful blue skies :)

Fasten your seatbelts

Well here is the typical *looking out of the plane* picture :) Can't start holidays without one :)

This was taken short before landing in Melbourne Airport.

In the meantime we have landed, settled and still trying to tell our bodies that nighttime is for sleeping and daytime to stay awake :) The 10 hour timezone difference is certianly confusing our sleeping times.

Okay.... I have the urge to make you all jealous... the weather here is 28degrees, blue skies and nice gentle sommer breeze! Absolutely lovely :)

2 more sleeps :)

NOPE.....we are not quite gone yet, just incase you popped in to see if I have started this Blog. :)
Well, to be honest, we are not gone at ALL yet, and rather than sit here and write stories, I really should be doing some serious packing. But tomorrow is another day and who needs more then a few hours to pack? I know I will be sorry *tomorrow* I didn't start today. pffffftttt

Anyway...why not start this Blog with a picture of a previous Australia visit. My friend Sandra asked for a picture of a Koala. I took this sleeping Koala in 2005. So Sandra, just incase I don't get a chance to take a picture of one....here is your Koala :)

I am off to do some serious packing. Come to think of it.....first a good nights sleep and tomorrow I will pack.
